Larimer County Arrest History

Larimer County Sheriff's Office, Fort Collins Police Services, Loveland Police, Windsor Police, Colorado State Patrol, and other authorized agencies can create arrest records. If a person is booked locally, Larimer County Jail creates a separate intake record with identifiers, arresting agency, agency case number, listed charges, bond information, and court routing. An arrest report and booking entry may exist even when prosecutors file no case.

The public LCSO charge summary covers Sheriff-only history from 2005 to the present. It includes jail booking dates, times, and charges plus LCSO citations, summonses, or warrants. It does not supply court dispositions or DMV records. City police reports remain with the city agency. Statewide repository information comes from CBI, while official case outcomes come from the court clerk.

Four Larimer Arrest Record Custodians

One arrest can produce four related records. The arresting agency keeps its incident or probable-cause material. Larimer County Jail records intake and custody. The Eighth Judicial District Attorney decides whether and what to file. District or County Court keeps the filed case and disposition. Fingerprints and charge information also flow to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation's statewide infrastructure, where later outcome reporting may remain incomplete.

These sources can differ without any one being false. Booking charges reflect intake. Filed charges reflect the prosecutor's decision. A court order records the result. CBI reports what participating agencies sent. Begin with the event and custodian rather than a person's home address.

Looking Up Larimer County Arrests

The official Booking Report is the strongest first check for a recent booking. Follow it with the current inmate tool and Releases view. Older or fuller records require a request to the arresting agency, and the court supplies the filed charge and disposition. No official LCSO mobile app offers a separate arrest lookup.

1. Search the Booking Report by arrest date and agency, then check current inmates or Releases by Day.
2. Request the incident or arrest report from LCSO Records, Fort Collins, Loveland, Windsor, or the agency that made the arrest.
3. Search Colorado Judicial Dockets, then request the official case and disposition from the filing clerk.
4. Use CBI's ICHC name check for the Colorado repository layer, not as a replacement for the narrative or court file.
5. Call the jail at 970-498-5200 for current-custody questions or submit a signed formal request when online tools do not answer the question.

Active charged felony, misdemeanor, and DUI police material in qualifying LCSO cases after December 1, 2019 may route to the District Attorney discovery unit. Ask LCSO which custodian holds the requested item before paying.

Larimer Arrest Charge Summary

LCSO's charge-summary product costs a nonrefundable $7.50 research fee plus $0.25 per page for review and redaction. Supply the full first and last name and date of birth. The form also requests the requester's identity and contact information, company or agency if any, delivery choice, and a required signature under CRS 24-72-305.5. A no-history letter may be available when the Sheriff finds no covered record.

Cards add $0.75 plus 2.25 percent. Reports generally are unavailable until 10 to 14 days after an incident, and fulfillment can take more time. That is an availability estimate, not a promised response deadline.

Inside a Larimer County Arrest Record

A public jail profile inspected for field structure showed identity and custody fields, but no retained private-person data. Read each listed charge as a booking allegation. The public template did not show a mugshot, full physical-description inventory, or housing pod during research.

Some data may be redacted because it concerns juveniles, victims, medical matters, at-risk adults, or active investigations. A missing field does not establish that the event did not occur.

After a Larimer Inmate Disappears

The Inmate Search accepts two or more letters of a last name and an autocomplete selection. It reflects current custody, so release or transfer can remove a person from that view. Check the Releases tab, including current, pending, and date-based information. If a state sentence led to transfer, use the Colorado Department of Corrections Offender Search instead.

Call the jail information line at 970-498-5200 when the current status is unclear. Staff restrict medical details and transfer timing. VINE at 888-263-8463 or VINELink provides custody notifications. A blank current-roster result does not erase the earlier booking, and a CDOC result concerns state custody rather than a pretrial county jail stay.

Booking Logs and Recent Arrests

Larimer's Booking Report, Inmate Search, Releases, Incident Blotter, Jail Population, and Transient or Homeless Bookings appear as distinct official views. The Booking Report is organized around arrest information, while the inmate tool centers on current custody. The Incident Blotter offers date, time, location, and category context, but not every call or incident produces an arrest or criminal case.

Use the arresting-agency filter when the event involved Fort Collins, Loveland, or Windsor police. For Windsor, also verify the county because the town crosses into Weld County. Never treat an online log as a complete lifetime arrest history. Entries can roll off current views, city agency reports live elsewhere, protected records may not publish, and a state-prison transfer changes the right search system.

Why Larimer Arrest Reports Move

LCSO directs some active charged police material to the Eighth Judicial District Attorney rather than releasing it from the Sheriff's counter. The rule covers active charged felony, misdemeanor, and DUI reports on or after December 1, 2019. The DA discovery route concerns case evidence. It does not replace the jail booking record or the clerk's official court file.

When a request is redirected, note the agency case number and court case number if both exist. Ask the DA for discovery, the clerk for filed documents, and LCSO for Sheriff-owned booking or arrest products. That split is more useful than sending the same broad request to every office.

Larimer Detox Holds and Arrests

A detoxification hold can be a short protective hold under Colorado law and is not automatically an arrest. Confirm the event type with the agency record instead of assuming that any short stay created a criminal charge. Likewise, a citation or summons can create an agency record without a jail booking.

Arrests Are Not Convictions

An arrest records an officer's action and, when booked, the jail's intake. A conviction requires a court finding or guilty plea. Prosecutors may decline a filing, charges can change, and cases may end in dismissal or acquittal. CBI can also show an unknown disposition when outcome reporting is missing, so the Larimer clerk's certified order is the best proof of the final result.

Note: A Larimer County arrest is not proof of guilt, and the court disposition must be checked before drawing a conclusion.

To correct an unknown CBI outcome, obtain the official disposition from the court and submit it through CBI's correction process. Do not use a booking entry as a substitute.
